I had started this chapter right after a holiday trip to Japan! (it was great!!)

And it usually shows, when I take a break. Not that getting back to work is always easy (it rarely is!) but once I'm back into comics, it's suddenly very refreshing to draw and the joy in returning to beloved characters shows, I think. It's all... lighter. More fluid, more fun. 

That's why it's important to take (real) breaks! A lot of artists will feel guilty not drawing for a while, or many artists will tell you never to stop drawing, always to take a sketchbook with you and draw what you see on your travels and yes, that's also a really neat thing to do, but from my experience, it's both enriching and refreshing to take a break from drawing for a few days/weeks. It recharges the batteries.
