I remember when I wrote these strips, I was on vacation somewhere in the mountains with my siblings and parents, and a friend of theirs, who had books about dreams, which I ate immediately. Lucid dreaming was a recurrent experience for me then, and the subject fascinated me (still, and will always, fascinate me).

Creating Lillian was almost second nature, though there were thoughts of making her an old past friend of Roomie's at first, then deciding their interaction would be even more precious if they met for the first time. But Lillian, as a character, felt like she was always there somewhere in the universe, and I simply picked her up as she was dreaming there, and asked her if she could visit my comic for me. Just like Roomie, who was zigzagging her way down the cosmos drunkenly. Writing them both in one scene was always so joyful for me to do, and full of potential. Both of them echoing parts of myself that sometimes did not understand each other, and had their conflicting interests.

Writing comics feels very spiritual, along with therapeutic, in these moments :)
