Roomie's reaction in that last panel is just a pure Roomie moment.

So when writing these strips, I did not meant for Steve and Lillian to know each other (and they did know each other quite a lot!) I retconned this later on for story purposes, and gave explanations to why they were acting like they weren't familiar with each other then. But I don't think that happens until quite a bit later on, so let's put that aside for now. (sorry about minor spoilers in these commentaries, if ever there are new readers reading this!)

Also, regarding Lillian's misunderstanding, part of me feels like she's doing this a little on purpose. I feel like she's poking at Roomie's way of life, knowing that Steve probably isn't her lover, and having a bit of fun with it. Though she's probably very serious about that last "ménage à trois" misunderstanding. The idea might have taken her aback, especially since she did have a crush on Steve when younger.

Hope you enjoyed this week's commentaries and I wish you all a lovely, and kind, weekend<3

Next week I can go back to some suggestions you gave earlier on, about what you'd like for me to talk about next!

--> This is a rerun of the finished webcomic Go Get a Roomie! You can find these two strips in the old archive >here<!
