So I remember that first panel being a little different originally, and I edited it out a little for the book. Originally, Lillian's reaction was more violent, like "the fuck was that, are you shitting me" (it wasn't that violent with that many cussing but you know what I mean) and it did confuse readers, and myself later on, as to why she reacted so strongly to Roomie's little "no, stahp" from last strip.

Anyhoodle, sometimes the mind of an artist strays a bit too far and doesn't realize that they might have skipped a few things :D
