I remember writing the script for that first strip, I don't exactly remember why, but I thought having just a little twin moment of them talking weird family stuff would fit nicely right at that moment, to add a bit of life in the household and not just have Roomie and Lillian interacting in it. 

Kind of a random discussion, that probably could have been written better, or been an entire other discussion between them that could have been funnier/more enriching to the world building, but hey, these sort of things happen when you make three strips per week! :)
